The Sentry Tavares office recently hosted a complimentary Board certification class for local HOA Board members. Over 25 newly elected Board members attended and received their certification.

In recent years, the Florida Legislature passed legislation requiring board members of HOAs and Condo associations to take a board certification class within 90 days of being elected to the Board of Directors, or to provide a written certification election form.

Sentry provides board members the opportunity to receive their certification from legal experts in the industry by hosting free education classes. These professionals better prepare board members to serve their communities by making sure they’re provided with all of the information needed.

The guest speakers at the event were Robert L. Taylor, Office Co-Managing Shareholder and Elizabeth A. Lanham-Patrie, Senior Attorney from Becker & Poliakoff.

The class covered a variety of topics, including association operations, records maintenance, dispute resolution, HOA/COA budgets and reserves, financial reporting, and much more. Board members leave the class with all the pertinent information needed in order to successfully begin serving their communities.
