The Bella Trae community located in Champions Gate, FL participated in the National Night Out event this year by inviting members of the Osceola County K-9 and Motor Units along with the County Sheriff’s Department.
The National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
The children of the Bella Trae community enjoyed the K-9 demonstration and were given the opportunity to sit on the patrol motorcycles for pictures. The children especially enjoyed when the deputies allowed them to turn on the lights for the patrol cars.
Community members enjoyed food from a popular local food truck, Adler’s Burgers. The event ended with a walk-through of the entire property.
“Events like National Night Out not only build a trust between the local Sheriff’s Department and residents, but it can bring residents together to bond and help gain their sense of community. That in turn, helps them build relationships with each other and encourages residents to look out for each other,” Stephanie Ackley, Sentry Bella Trae Lifestyle Director/Assistant General Manager said.
Thousands of communities take part in the National Night Out event every year, throughout the United States.
