Sentry Community Association Managers and maintenance staff members from the Volusia office attended an onsite training from Firetronics during their regular scheduled staff meeting.
The staff reviewed the fire systems of a condominium including what to look for when there is an issue on-site and how to handle different situations in the event of a fire.
Laura Qualantone, Regional Vice President explains, “This type of proactive training is important because we don’t want to be trying to figure out what to do during an actual event. Things happen that need to be addressed quickly such as a broken pipe causing a water leak, or a fire sprinkler head gets broken off. The time to find out how the system works is not during the event but prior to the event so water can be shut off and pumps shut down until the repair is complete. It’s important to mitigate any water damage right away so building a relationship with a vendor that can handle water mitigation to limit the damage should be established before there is a situation where you need someone right away.”
