After a devastating fire displaced the Corteal family, Sentry Management stepped in to help. The Corteal family lived in a community managed by Sentry Management in Pasadena, Maryland, until a fire ripped through their home, leaving it uninhabitable. Sentry’s team in Crofton was aware of their plight, and Community Manager Dawn Johnson delivered a gift card to matriarch Kim Corteal to help the family purchase immediate necessities in the aftermath. Kim expressed her gratefulness to Dawn and Sentry for the gesture, and Dawn and Kim shared a happy moment during a difficult time.
Dawn and Sentry’s Crofton team were thankful to be able to help. They expressed their desire to always ensure that the communities they manage are great places to live and jumped at the opportunity to help community members in need.
Sentry Management’s charitable program, Giving SMILES, provides assistance to deserving residents in Sentry communities who have experienced hardship. Company-matched employee donations fund the program, and gift cards are distributed to homeowners or families that have fallen on hard times after a tragedy and during holiday seasons. The program also supports over 100 local charities and causes nationwide through fundraising and volunteer work.
