For the fifth year in a row, Sentry Management has been named one of Central Florida’s Top Philanthropic companies by the Orlando Business Journal.

The Orlando Business Journal awards this honor to the top 25 Central Florida companies and organizations with qualifying data demonstrating their philanthropic efforts within the community. Sentry Management ranked #15 in the Most Philanthropic Companies category by total employee volunteer hours and #17 in the charitable donations category. Other notable companies ranked alongside Sentry included Bank of America, Advent Health, and the Orlando Magic.

Sentry’s volunteer and donation efforts primarily stem from Sentry Management’s charitable donation and volunteer program, Giving Smiles, which provides opportunities for employees to volunteer with local charitable organizations. Some of the charities and organizations Sentry partners with include but are not limited to One Blood, Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Second Harvest Food Bank, and more. Sentry employees in Florida alone donated over 2,000 volunteer hours to local organizations in their communities.

The Giving SMILES program also allows employees to participate in local and company-wide larger-scale donation efforts and events. For example, Sentry employees can elect a voluntary, company-matched paycheck deduction through Giving Smiles to help raise funds for deserving residents in Sentry communities experiencing hardship. Other donation efforts include participation in company-wide events, charity sports events, golf tournaments, and more. Sentry raised over $89,000 for charitable organizations through Giving Smiles events, such as Sentry’s annual charity golf tournament in Lake Mary, FL, and company-wide participation in the nationwide 5K with the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run.
