The Sentry Management Savannah office recently paired up with A Place to Dream and the Savannah Housing Authority to help donate, deliver and set up 23 single-size beds for children in public housing who were identified as having no bed of their own.

In addition to the beds, bedding, and frames, the staff also helped deliver bags of food and a small gift bag.

The YMCA, in partnership with the Housing Authority of Savannah, launched A Place to Dream in 2019. They began by providing 28 beds, full sheet and comforter sets along with bags filled with toys, books and stuffed animals to 13 families in the local Savannah community and expanded from there.

“Knowing there are children in our community without beds weighs heavy on each of us year round, but especially at the holidays when children are supposed to feel nothing but joy and anticipation. Our Sentry office in Savannah learned of this project last year when the director spoke at a local Rotary meeting and shared the need. Since then we have waited for an opportunity to help,” Vice President of Coastal Georgia and Hilton Head Island, Joye Jones says.
