Sentry President & Senior Vice President Host Session at National CAI Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

CAI Conference Virginia

Sentry Management President, Bradley Pomp and Senior Vice President, Kregg Hale recently gave a presentation to a crowd with hundreds of community association management professionals in attendance at the 45th Annual Community Associations Institute (CAI) Conference and Expo in Washington, D.C.

Bradley Pomp and Kregg Hale were selected to give the presentation based off of a presentation topic that they submitted to the CAI. The presentation was titled “Taking Control of Your Day:  Achieving Breakthrough Performance”.  This educational session focused on busy community association managers that are working long hours every day to get everything accomplished and offered helpful suggestions on how to retain focus on tasks and improve productivity.

Regarding the Sentry Management presentation, the CAI website description stated: In the community association business, the daily volume of emails, phone calls, and texts can feel overwhelming and hinder productivity—but it’s possible to take control of your day and accomplish more than you think you can. Learn the tips, tricks, and techniques for managers to tackle daily tasks and challenges efficiently, effectively, and professionally.

Thousands of community association managers and leaders from around the world gathered for this annual conference on May 9-12 at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel in Washington, D.C. to build and expand their peer professional network and attend educational sessions on operations, leadership, innovative business practices and new products and technologies. The conference featured industry professionals and homeowner association volunteer leaders who discussed important issues about networking and learning about the latest community association trends.

During the presentation, relevant issues were discussed that community managers face with the unique combination of a large workload and dealing with day-to-day distractions that many community managers experience whether they are self-inflicted like social media or text messages, or external like incoming phone calls and mass amounts of emails.

The conference featured several keynote speakers, including author Cam Marston, a leading expert on the impact of generational characteristics and differences in the workplace and marketplace. Katty Kay, Lead Anchor of BBC World News America also spoke at the event and addressed the topic of the constantly-changing world and understanding the competing economic and political trends that are essential to the success of any business or organization.

Other educational sessions were available at the conference for attendees and included topics like Best Business Practices, Dealing with Large-Scale Community Issues, Leadership, Legal, Professional Development, and Public Policy.

The CAI organization is a worldwide leader in information for community association education, resources, and information. This expo helps celebrate community association managers, the people who live and serve millions of homeowner’s associations and condominium associations worldwide. The organization hosts workshops, summits, conferences, and retreats for community association professionals throughout the year.

CAI encourages community association leaders, community managers, and business partners to attend conferences and expos like this one that they offer throughout the year.

The CAI website states: “Community associations increasingly are being called on to play a significant role in the way we live, learn, work, and play. We believe the community as a whole—with its unique mix of cultural identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, and more—represents the truly physical and cultural reality of today’s world. Through shared perspectives, experience and knowledge, a strong peer network comprised of these attendees will be one of the best resources for creating community legacies.
