Sylvia Bayless has been promoted to Market President of the Sentry Management Columbus office. Sylvia brings extensive industry knowledge of the Ohio market with over 30 years of experience in property management and over 15 years of experience in association management.
Sylvia joined The Case Bowen/Sentry Management family in early 2021 as a Senior Community Association Manager and was promoted to Assistant Division Manager in 2022. Upon the retirement of co-founder Jim Case in October 2022, Sylvia assumed the role of Market President.
Jim fondly noted, “After more than 29 years here at Case Bowen and now Sentry Management, I feel that I have done my work and it’s time to turn it over to an experienced and vibrant team. Sylvia Bayless is as good as it gets in the association management industry and I’m confident in her leadership.”
Sylvia started her career in 1988 as a bookkeeper for a small commercial/industrial property management firm. During her eight years of service there she earned an ARM® from IREM and an Ohio Real Estate License. Ever-curious and armed with new credentials, she moved on to managing apartment communities for the next eight years. She then brought her talents to the association management industry in 2004 and earned a CMCA® from Community Association Managers International Certification Board and an AMS® from Community Associations Institute.
Sylvia is looking forward to the new challenge of leading the Columbus division. “I am so appreciative for the opportunity to lead the Case Bowen Company into the Sentry management family,” Sylvia remarked. “I look forward to the challenges and new experiences in store. It is bittersweet to say goodbye to Jim Case and Bob Bowen as they retire, but I will strive to carry on the culture of positivity, support and empowerment they created over the last 29 years.”
